Can't convert FAT32 "C" disk to NTFS; autoconvert.ex_ won't expand to autoconvert.exe
I'm running XP Pro, SP3 on an IBM (Lenovo) laptop. I don't have a Windows XP disk, all I have is what IBM/Lenovo loaded on my C drive -- . which allows me to reformat and do a clean installation. During a virus-forced reformat, I inadvertently formatted my C drive as fat32. I'd like to change the file structure to NTFS. I expanded the convert.ex_ file in my i386 folder to converte.exe; but when I try to run convert.exe it stalls, and the cmd screen says that it (Windows) can't find autoconvert.exe. The i386 file containes autoconvert.ex_ but not autoconvert.exe; and for the life of me I can't figure out how to expand the ex_ file. I've backed up my data, but if I do get the convert programs running and do manage to convert FAT32 to NTFS and stand to lose my programs -- let me know. I'd just as soon reformat (yet again) and clean install everything. Thanks, BDL1 person needs an answerI do too

FAT32 (File Allocation Table) is an old file system; it is simple and readable to work on a large number of operating systems. But, recently, it is understood that the usage of FAT 32 always been replaced by NTFS—the superior partition format.NTFS (New Technology File System) is the standard file system of Windows NT, including its later versions Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. NTFS supersedes the FAT file system as the preferred file system for Microsoft’s Windows operating systems.Considering the superiority the NTFS gives, people would like to convert FAT32 to NTFS.I just know that operation is simple to realize, but if revert NTFS back to FAT32; it will be a complex operation.Luckily I have just heard that there is new released software named NTFS to FAT32 Converter. It can easilyconvert NTFS to FAT32 without data losing. Mentioned here, help you all deal with this problem in case.
